Fans hoping to pre-order an Xbox Series X or Series S through Microsoft’s own website are already having trouble this morning. Like many other retailers, Microsoft’s site is experiencing a slew of errors due to traffic.
Currently, fans trying to pre-order either system are greeted with a 503 error page that just says Service Unavailable. Beyond that error page, the website is experiencing significant slowdown even when trying to buy a current-generation Xbox One.
The messy pre-order rollout echoes last week’s rocky PlayStation 5 launch, which left players scrambling for the console after a surprise drop at retailers, who quickly sold out of stock in minutes across the board.
