UK high street retailer GAME is celebrating Euro 2020 by giving away exclusive Pokémon England Futsal trading cards – and it should come as no great shock to learn that scalpers are already selling them for massive amounts online.
The first of the exclusives, Eevee England Futsal Promo Card, and the second, Grookey England Futsal Promo Card, have already been released, with GAME reporting plenty of demand from fans to secure them. The third, featuring Scorbunny, will be available from tomorrow (18th), subject to availability and whilst stocks last. All of the Pokémon in the range are seen wearing England national team football shirts.
It would seem that the first two cards are now unavailable, with prices on eBay already on the rise:
To get the latest card – which is available online with selected bundles and throughout English GAME stores – you’ll need to spend £15 on Pokémon Trading Card Game product.
While the four England Futsal Promo cards are only available to GAME customers, there’s a fifth special card on offer, too, which features Pikachu.
To be in with a chance of getting it, you need to register your Club for The FA Pokémon Youth Futsal Programme. You see, the cards are part of a collaboration with England Football to promote Youth Futsal and “encourage participation in this highly skilful and exciting version of football.”
But that’s not all:
GAME is also offering a second promotion – a chance to encounter and battle Gigantamax Sandaconda from 18th June to 18th July 2021. This GAME exclusive will be available across all stores and online, with no purchase required. Get your special code to receive a Dynamax Crystal in Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield – whilst stocks last. Using this Dynamax Crystal will create a special Max Raid Battle available in your game where you’ll be able to face Gigantamax Sandaconda and attempt the Max Raid Battle as many times as it takes to win, or until midnight on the day that the Dynamax Crystal was used.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game is having something of a bumper period at the moment, with 3.7 billion cards being sold in 2020.
