It has been known for a while that Samsung could possibly be working on two previously unknown Windows laptops. Now it looks like the secret is finally out.
Leaker Evan Blass just revealed both the Samsung Galaxy Book Pro and Pro 360, two new stunningly beautiful Windows laptops that might be coming as soon as April or May at a PC-specific Samsung event.
As the name of the producs suggests, the Galaxy Book Pro appears to be the successor to the Galaxy Book Ion from late 2019. It is a traditional clamshell laptop, whereas the Pro 360 is a 2-in-1 with a 360-degree hinge and the successor to the Galaxy Book Flex.
According to Blass, it’s looking as though both devices will come in both 13-inch and 15-inch size options, with color options being blue and silver on the Pro, and navy and gold on the Pro 360. You can see the devices in the photos below.
Note that only the Pro 360 appears to support a newer version of Samsung’s S-Pen. This makes sense, as its screen can be flipped around and it can be used as a tablet. It also looks as though the Pro 360 could have slimmer bezels, closer to what’s seen on Dell’s XPS 13, but it’s hard to tell from the marketing images.
As for what’s powering these new Samsung devices, it’s believed that there could be Intel’s 11th-generation processors under the hood. The larger 15-inch models could also come with options for Nvidia MX450 graphics for light photo and video editing and gaming.
Just as rumors have indicated, Blass also believes that the devices will have Full HD AMOLED panels, for more vibrant colors and a pleasurable viewing experience when compared to LED displays on other laptops.
Connectivity on the Galaxy Book Pro and Pro 360 could top out with Thunderbolt 4 support, as well as LTE. Though Blass didn’t mention it, there remains the possibility that an ARM-based version of the Galaxy Book Pro and Go could also be in the works. Leaker @_h0x0d_ previously indicated that a Galaxy Book Go could come in May with “the fastest Qualcomm processor ever.”
We’ll have to wait and see, but Blass points out that “with April quickly approaching, more details will likely be shared in short order,” so these devices could become official sooner rather than later.
