Get your iPad ready, because Apple has announced iPadOS 15, the next version of the tablet’s operating system during the keynote presentation at WWDC 2021. The software is a spinoff of iOS 15 for the iPhone, but with changes and new features specifically designed to improve the software experience on a larger screen.
The event is ongoing and Apple is revealing all the new features right now, so we will update this story over the next hours. What we do know is that although the software is official, it won’t be coming out for a while yet. Apple traditionally releases the final version to the public towards the end of the year, although a public beta version has been made available before that time in the past.
Rumors were scarce about the software ahead of the show, although it was hinted additional widgets would be introduced, but iOS 15 was linked with changes to the lock screen, notifications, and iMessage, all of which will likely come to the iPad too.
