Apple just announced its long awaited AirTags, which we’ve been hearings whispers about since the fall of 2019, during the Apple Spring Loaded event. These types of Bluetooth trackers have been done before without widespread traction, but Apple’s interpretation is poised to make us never forget where we left our keys. More recently, Samsung beat Apple to he punch with its announcement of the Galaxy Tag. What’s notable about it is the fact it’s attached with a $30 price point and has a range of about 390 feet.

While trackers have been around for a long time now, some of the main challenges have been their limited range and bulky size.
