Update: Developer Psyonix has provided another small update on its progress in fixing Rocket League‘s current split-screen multiplayer issue.
Responding to a fan on Reddit, a Psyonix representative said:
“Hi folks, if testing goes well, splitscreen support should return on Nintendo Switch with our game update next month (the same one featuring the new community flags we talked about yesterday).
This has been on the Known Issues list for a few months now, and it’s always been our goal to bring it back. Thanks, everyone!”
So, hopefully we’ll be seeing a fix in December? Fingers crossed!
Original Article (Sun 25th Oct, 2020 15:55 GMT): Believe it or not, but it’s now been over a month since the split-screen multiplayer mode mysteriously disappeared from the Nintendo version of Rocket League. This happened around the same time it went free-to-play.
Fortunately, Psyonix hasn’t forgotten about it. Just hours ago, the developer responded to a player with the following tweet:
The previous update via the official Rocket League support page was much the same:
“Split-screen mode is currently unavailable for Nintendo Switch. We are working on resolving this issue.”
As you can probably guess, players who regularly used this mode before it went missing aren’t happy. Here are some of the latest reactions over on Twitter:
If we hear anything else from Psyonix, we’ll be sure to let you know.
